Hi there, I thought I should share this info in case it helpful for others.. some years ago my parking sensor system packed up.. not a big problem as I don't need it.. just a bit annoying to always see the orange flashing light on the PDC switch on the dash... the car was in the garage having brake pads replaced and I asked about it.. they told me the computer was saying the PDC speaker was blown.. would be around £44 for the part and 1 hr to 1.5hrs labour to fix ... so around £150 + VAT... I declined this and decided to leave it as it was... then I thought surely this is something I could fix.. the speaker is attached to the body under the nearside passenger window .. you have to remove the trim (two large screws, seatbelt anchor bolt and various clips) then there is a plastic cover (two screws) the speaker is attached by two small crosshead screws..

So the LR part is expensive .. but the speaker inside the housing is made by Valeo and genetic to many makes Renault, Peugeot, Ford etc... there are two speaker housings that are very similar.. one where the connector is at the same angle as the screw tab, and the other where it is diagonal to the screw tab (although I expect the other type could be adapted to fit)..
The last photo shows the wrong kind of generic housing, don't buy this type..

I found the exact same speaker as the original Landrover part .. the ref number is PDC Speaker 9653139280 and is for Citroen, Peugeot, Ford etc... see link below

I could have fitted it as it is, but I simply opened the housing and replacing my blown speaker unit with the new one into my original land rover housing .. now all working again.. and the whole thing cost me a little time and £9.99 for the genetic speaker unit plus postage .. not bad.. hope this helps others...
