painting

I added this question to another thread so it might not have been read by all so will ask on a new one. has anyone seen the yellow f.l on the pics on this site and if they have do they know how who ever owns it got the plastic smooth enough to gloss? i fancy doing mine but not sure if special paint was used or just hours with a D.A to get the plastic smooth enough to give a gloss finish. Any advice from anyone whos painted their plastic bit would be appreciated. cheers guys.
