Hello everybody, hope you are all enjoying this lovely summer! I’m looking to paint my rear crossmember, the rear face is fine and with no rust but underneath (where the towing electrics bolt on) is looking a little scabby, only light flakey rust nothing major or holes etc.. I’m thinking to wire wheel it all off and red oxide prime, The question is do I tackle this with a brush paint or get to work masking and spray etc?

Best regards to all!

Thank you all for that advice, I need to tow every other week so at the weekend I’m going to make a start and take off the hitch and the tow electrical plate which bolts onto the x member, I have some brilliant red oxide ( not the Halfords sort of stuff ) thanks to a member on here mick he’s called, but you can’t spray it unfortunately so may have to just do the bottom with that stuff and then do the front face with a spray can type red oxide... looks a fiddle of a job though! Not looking forward to it one bit
