i am planning on painting my ifor williams canopy tomoz as i have a free day from work, its off my 110 doublecab which is black so i am wanting to paint the canopy black, i have read up somewere that someone can painted theres in waxoyl?? i wondered if anyone could give me some tips or advice on how to paint mine:) thanks

I would suggest (rattlecan) etch primimg before painting, else the paint is likely to flake off in the future....can't for the life of me see how Waxoyl would work.....

Looking forward to how this thread goes as i've been thinking of doing the same myself.
Etch primer seems to be a must but not sure on the top coat, thinking of using a roller though as i'm sure i can get a good finish with this

im painting my truckman top in the next week for mine hopefully, im cleaning down with thinners then spraying with 2k and hardner mixture

Using etch primer, you only really need a dusting just to key to the surface, ready for normal primer, or just whack a top coat on, depends on how fussy you are!, you dont need to high build it, so a couple of rattle cans of etch should suffice.......

if using hammerite on galv use special metals primer by hammerite this goes straight to weather'd galv. If your not short of a few quid use dulux metal shield and metal shield q/d primer. Or even jotun conseal i am sure this goes straight to galv. I work in paint industry domestic and industrial if you need help feel free to pm me.
