Hi got2 problems with my p38 diesel 1st one is the heater system drivers side stays cold unless you go round a bend then it will send hot air out for a while would it be a blend motor playing up if so where would i find it and how easy are they to change? 2nd problem is my front heated screen both my old screen and new screen the heated part of it only works on the passenger side any ideas thanks

A blender motor usually either works or it doesnt and sticks in one position (normally worn cogs on the drive). If it's coming on in corners it maybe a loose connection. If the screen heater is only half and half you may want to look at the Hevac. Thats the control panel that works all the heater buttons. (HEatingVentilationAirCon) Thats the easy bit to change otherwise its a dash out job for the blenders, although there is a quicker way but either way it's awkward.

The heated screen could be fusebox related, this is taken from the ETM for a 97 vehicle...

This operates only with the engine running, which is
determined by the HEVAC panel. In the off state, the
signal is at 12 volts. When the Heated Front
Windscreen is activated, the signal is switched to 0
volts. This provides the ground required for relay 5 to
be pulled in, as there is an ignition feed on the other
side of the coil provided by relay 15. This relay
energises one half of the heated screen elements.

Once relay 5 has been energised, a 12 volt signal is
provided to the coil of relay 4. The other side of the
coil is connected directly to ground, thereby
energising the relay and switching on the other half
of the elements.

Check fuses 30 & 32 in the engine bay fuse box and if ok try swapping over relays 4 & 5 and see if the non-working side of the screen now works or whether the screen even heats at all.
