P38 window regulator

I have just replaced a window regulator in my P38 drivers door as one of the lever arms were broken. But whilst trying it I noticed that when the window is fully closed it flexes the mechanism and door! Is this normal, or should there be a limiting setting or switch that I need to set? As this oad clearly what caused the lever arm on the regulator to break in ther first place.
