DT i think is the rr without air suspension
DSE and dhse i have no idear but the dhse is only the leader ons i think .

but i am from Denmark and wee have some ****ed trim differences.

DT has cloth seats and air suspension.
DSE has leather seats.
DHSE has all the other extras of the HSE: electric seats, mirrors tilt on reverse, steering wheel radio controls, more footwell lamps.

what is it then the one without air suspension is called ?

i have a dse
and have electric seats

There was no P38 without air suspension

The DT also had manual climate control and manual seats and a lower spec stereo with 7J rims

and the dHSE trim level only came after 99

ETC was an option on DT's.
Cruise control and trip computer were not an option so that will pretty much decide what trim level you have.
IIRC mirror tilting only came with memory electric seats pre 99 (HSE spec only), not sure about after that.

Its all down to what BECM you have fitted, once it's a High line BECM everything is possible for the year vehicle you have as the wiring loom will be the same.

I have a sales brochure from 1997, when I get a chance I'll scan the trim level option page and post it.

There are 3 of us here in France with year 2000 DHSE's. The trim spec is different on each of them. I also have a 96 DT, cloth seats, no aircon, crap radio, air suspension.

DHSE's do not all have full electric seats. Mine only has electric height adjustment, other adjustments are manual I'm pleased to say. Nor do the mirrors tilt on reverse although they do auto dip and the radio controls are not on the steering. As with most BMW product you bought a kit of parts comprising the basic car plus the extras you want to pay for so they are all different.

Thank folks. Am looking at a 2.5DT but it has got leather (would not want one without TBH). So it should have manual AC. Will check that out. Might be a good thing looking at the number of post about climate control probs!

I would have thought that too but I was told recently that the manual version still has electrical controls, not levers and cables so you have exactly the same problems with blend motors etc without any of the benefits of automatic climate control so I'd stick with the higher spec stuff.

Datatek, I think the only way you can confirm if you have a dHSE or not is to check the manufacturers spec for your VIN on Microcat. There has been a huge amount of retro fitting etc with a lot of rangies and the only thing dHSE about some of them is the sticker on the tailgate.
I was sold what was advertised and badged as a 99 dHSE. It's actually a 98MY DSE with all the bells and whistles available off the option list in 98, but a dHSE it aint. They were only introduced in late 1999/00 with the facelift. The only thing I'm missing is memory function for the seats, they are fully electric. Now I don't know if things were different in other markets but that is the way it was in UK.

I've never heard of half electric seats before, thats interesting. BTW, if you can get your hands on the stereo control buttons, all the wiring is already there so you could retro fit them if you liked.

Would not discount a Rangie because it has cloth interior, I know it is a preference thing if you like leather or not but mine has cloth and are in great condition especially since its done 150K, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, if you see one at the right price check it out and you may be surprised how good looking and comfy the cloth interior is, just like sitting in a comfy armchair.

TBH I have not had a car without wind and skin (AC and leather!) for such a long time (15 yrs?) that I would not even look at one without. I always seemed to wear through the bolster on cloth seats- must be the way I slide in and before anyone says anything Im a skinny ****er not a fat one!!!:)
