p38 transfer box will it fit?

Hi all can any one help my transfer box on my rangie gave up the ghost over the weekend there are a couple on flea bay one is relatively close and one is a fair distance away. Here is my dilemma my part no is 44 62 003 now the one that is closest to me the no is 44 62 001 does any one know if it will fit cos the guy selling it say that all p38 transfer boxes are the same?. Is this true?. but the one that is miles away has the same no as mine but it will cost a small fortune to have couriered to me any advise would be appreciated

As far as i am away P38 transfer boxes are all the same. But there have been mods done over the years. But if you ring a main dealer he should be able to tell you if there is a difference in spec of the two part numbers. It may just be a oilseal or bearing mod has been done on the later one.
