Hi,
I'm currently having trouble with my lpg system on my 4.6 1998 p38.
It has the tartarini multi point lpg system on it and has a misfire. It runs fine on petrol but when it's on gas it has the Miss fire. I have just bought this car so don't know a lot about it but on the top of the vaporiser I have a nipple that looks like it should be connected to a vacuum pipe or something. It already has the one from below the diaphragm to the plenum chamber connected. When it it ticking over I can smell gas so I think I must have a leak that I need to find. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it a connection or the remnants of a temperature sensor?

On ours, there is a temp sensor on top of the vapouriser body that tells the ECU when the unit is hot enough.

There should be no leaks of gas under any circumstances.

Misfiring could be any number of things, have you got access to the gas ECU via laptop?

I have spoke to someone today and they said it could be for a turbo charged engine to adjust the fuelling for the boost could this be possible? I'm going to go round it this weekend with soapy water to see if I can find a leak. I have seen on eBay you can get the lead and software for around 30 pounds is this work getting?

As peter says a gas leak needs sorting.
As spark plugs wear, a miss fire will show up first on lpg. Spend half an hour cleaning and re gapping ( to 0.7-0.8mm ) assuming you are using traditional plugs, observe combustion deposits looking for a darker plug being the culprit.
