Or something like that! I went to view a P38 today, quite tempted by it but it had this warning on the dash - any idea what it means and how to fix it? Incidentally, the sunroof appeared to work fine.

Didn't notice any other warnings on the dash or HEVAC system - once I have cleared this one, am I likely to allow more to show, or would it scroll through them all?

Cheers!

if it opens / tilts as it should Mike, then it will require setting, as this & the windows have an anti-trap facility in the motor. normally if you do a cycle from fully open to fully closed & continue to hold the switch down for 10 seconds i believe?, this will then "set" the anti-trap sensor, thus removing the msg. as for anything else, i think it would list all so you should see all, rather than this masking other error msgs

Brilliant, thanks Cez - nice and easy! It slides and tilts fine, so guess it just needs a fully open/close run as you say.

Cheers!

if thats all that was wrong with it Mike you should have bought it,the battery must have been disconnected or have gone flat from standing or a dicky rf unit, the sunroof just needs the one touch resetting, fully open, fully close, tilt up and then close in one movement, job done, down load rave when you get one all the distructions are in there

I didn't think the sunroof tilt worked with one touch - it doesn't on mine and the handbook says it doesn't. Was that a later modification?

It is not one touch for the tilt. I have had to reset mine this morning as I had the battery disconnected.
to set it......Fully open (slide) and then close, then tilt it open and close, this message should then say 'Sunroof Set'.

My sunroof will not re set. I have tried what you are all saying but i amunable to do a compleat open and close in one go. It stops about two inches from fully oped and the same when you close. Tried this lts of times and still it will not set any ideas.

Have you got the original manual key that opens it?? My guess is that if you prise open the courtesy light console in the middle, you will see the manual open/close cog where the " T " manual key fits.. This allows you to set the sunroof in it's exact position.. I'm assuming theres nothing obstructing it?

As far as I know they all P38 sunroofs open in two stages - to set sunroof doesn't need to open to it's fullest- open, close, tilt up then down all in one smooth movement.

That's true, it does.. It should go from closed, to either full tilt or fully reclined back in one move. It wouldn't go from open on tilt to closed & reclined in one though. I think he's saying it stops before it's fully closed

I have tried every thing. It starts to open moves about 3 inches and stops push the button again moves about 4 inches and stops again. Does the same trying to close it. any ideas.

As a wild guess, me personally id (if you have one) look to use the manual key? or fully open using the switch & ensure there are no obvious signs of resistance, if looks ok then could this be the motor? as stated earlier in post, gently prise down your centre courtesy lighting fixment.. then you will have access to the motor. Mine has completely gone so i have to use the key to open mine.

I have a p38 Range Rover displaying the message to re-set sunroof, trouble is I havent got a sunroof, any one know how to get rid of the message?
