P38 Query

Hi Guys, Got a bit of a problem with my 1998 RR 2.5 DSE. When its up to temp it goes for awhile then it feels as if I've lost a cylinder and the injector light comes on then goes off. Eventually the light comes on all the time. If I reduce speed to about 40/50 it goes on comparatively ok but as soon as I put more throttle on the whole thing starts agaib. Feels like fuel starvation or something. Any ideas?:doh:

try the fuel filter also may be worth getting no 4 injector checked

had this same problem a few yrs ago on a 98 dse it turned out to be a injector(the one with the wire on)some so called mechanic at a garage damaged the wire at the base where it goes into the injector when the headgasket was replaced (bodget it) ended up doing the whole job again myself,after replacing it all was fine with no problems.

Fuel filter is a good place to start or in tank fuel pump. Best to get the fault codes read.

Don't think the filter or pump will cause warning lamp to come on. Usually only sensor faults will cause that.
