Hello everyone,

I'm an amateur wiv a p38! Got a leaking power steering box and want to replace it wiv another from my old p38. Where is the bleed screw? Dumb quest but if I don't get an answer before tomorrow I'll just angle through a pipe and drain that way!!:)

Just undo a pipe union or joint (like one on the pump for instance)...

And I think you mean a drain plug (there isn't one) and the system is self bleeding so there also won't be a bleed screw.

Oh and BTW, it is spelt 'with'....:D

Is that not a bleed screw I see on top of the box I know the 300 tdi's do

There is a bleed screw - RAVE indicates a bleed process.

I was told by JamesMartin the system is self bleeding, and I have to say when I did PS work on one of my P38's I never bled the system and it worked fine....

Live and learn!

The bleed screw is the small 7mm nut next to the centralising bolt. Bleed system by slowly undoing while engine is running.

Its basicly the same as freeing a pipe but cleaner as you can capture/ control the ATF better .
And good for draining for a fluid change
Bet many dont change there steering fluid I do ;)
