Cool....

Juat had a look.... at £349 - near £50 more than the others....for what reason?? Because it is a P38 Range Rover no doubt......huurrumph....

Nearly £50 more than I wanted to spend.....which in the grand scheme of things is not a lot, but still, why does it have to be more expensive than the others...???

Developement, testing, R&D etc I know.....but still....

And I was really looking forward to this one, I may have to rethink...

Nice piece of kit, easy to use when you learn how to drive it. Very capable. Bit extra for the P38 but it has a lot of systems.

The P38 has more systems as Wammers said, that's why it's a bit dearer:)

Very tempted.... no idea how it compares with the Hawkeye, but BBS's information regarding system inputs and outputs covered by the Nanocom on their web site is superb, so inclined to go for this rather than Hawkeye for that reason alone - I know exactly what I will be getting.

My only reservation is, this is very new software, so not sure how many bugs there will be - are firmware updates reasonably frequent and reliable (and free!) from BBS??

Cheers

The sofware is based on their Msv software which is pretty stable. There are free updates for the msv from their support site, but these are generally to fix any bugs that appear, not to increase capabilities.
I would expect any nanocom bug fix updates to be free and as required.

The Nanocom is a great bit of kit. The P38 version will come to you in the UK with vat, post and card surcharge if that's how you pay, for a little under £400.00.

No point in reinventing the wheel, the software will be based on the MSV which is execellent:D

Well, took the plunge and ordered a P38 Nanocom today. I have confirmation that the Hawkeye cannot read live HEVAC values so decided against that.

Will let you all know how well it works - first test will be to get the HEVAC working properly - am I the first on here to order one?!? (Wammers is yours a prototype on trial, or have you also bought one....?)

Cheers

I bought it, but got it before the general release. I had a problem so PMd Colin and he kindly let me have one early. I have not gotten into it fully yet, but a nice piece of kit, don't think you will be disappointed.

Mine arrived in the post today.Had a quick play and it seems very powerfull on first impressions.
Their is a lot of live data in most modules also access to becm functions.
I reset the fuel trims and have reset my EAS values as the motor was leaning to one side all in about an hour of getting it.

I have more time tomorrow and will have a longer look at its functions

Does the Nanocomm allow data to be logged over a period as well as read a snap shot of live data ?

I have a faultmate and this far exceds its capabilities ,you can calibrate the Blend motors resync the becm the list goes on and on.

But the faultmate is good and cheaper and with the p38 latest software clears the hevac faults they are 2 different tools. If you only want to read faults and reset them the faultmate is all you need.

I have a Faultmate Extreme MSV, it does all of the above and is a lot more expensive than the Nanocom so I assume you are talking about the Faultmate FCR?

You can get an SD card for it to store data on.

I assume it just writes a CSV type file to the SD card so you can then put it in a computer and plot the data ? From experience with other marquess I have found being able to plot the data in Excel very useful in fault finding, especially with things like MAF issues.
