P38 Loadspace Lights?

Hi all.

I've spent the day doing 'housekeeping' on my 95/M P38 SE, fixing mirrors, interior lights, and most importantly, adding cupholders! Whilst flicking through the service manual, I see various interior light bulbs that I don't have ... I guess part of a later spec, or the HSE or vogue specs. Which leads to a question...

My vehicle doesn't have any illumination in the loadspace (boot), so far as I can tell. It's quite a pain, especially when out in the hills at this time of year. I hear that these lights are fitted in some vehicles. Where are they mounted exactly? And will the wiring loom for them likely be in place in a 95/SE?

Ditto the puddle lights and footwell lights I hear rumours of ...

If it's not possible to retrofit, I might add something standalone, maybe on the tailgate with a tilt switch / LDR to activate it. I'm thinking the benefit of this would be it would run on seperate batteries. Has anyone done similar?

I've added the front 2 footwell lights, the rear cubby box/footwell light, the rear 2 puddle lights (had the front 2 already fitted) and the rear 2 map reading lights. The looms were all ready there in my 98 SE. As for the load space, mine already has a light, but it is pretty poor for such a big boot.

A lot of the p38 interior lights are the same as a rover 800 so can be easly found at a local scrap yard.

Is there a light in the BOOT part? i have a 2001 Anniversary there is only a small light in the upper tail gate..which when open is next to useless as it shines on your head and not in the boot...PS if there should be one in the boot where? cause theres no hole for one to fit..

didn't realise that. Do the lights that are common between the Range P38 and the Rover 800 include the puddle lights?

No worries if you're not sure, might be easier for me to find P38's at the breakers anyway.

Anyone know if the front footwell lights and the puddle lights are the same part? The holes look about the same size...

Not too sure on the puddle lights, Think they do look simular but not sure if they are the same.
