P38 indicator stalk

Silly little question, the push buttons on the end of the indicator stalk have unilaterally decided to fall off. anyone know how they were fixed on in the first place please?

Plastic retaining hooks which are part of the buttons. They harden with age and snap off. Same happened to my wash wipe stalk. Not a bad job, tilt steering wheel, remove the two screws that hold the top half of the steering cowl and lift it off. Two torque screws hold the stalk to a mounting bracket, remove them and disconnect the multi plug.Plenty used on the Bay.

I have a new one what I found cheep on the bay still need to fit it though, the one I have on there now just wont self right all the time
