I'm new here, us military stationed in the UK. I've been using this site for about a year now, its helped me greatly with my P38. I have a problem that finally has prompted me to sign up for. My accessories, more prominently, wipers, stereo, and climate control won't turn on. They flicker in and out at times, sometimes staying on, sometimes going off. The they are getting power, I verified with my multimeter, and the stereo ejects and accepts discs. Leads me to think an accessory switch fault somewhere maybe? Maybe I'm tuned for American cars. I can post photos if it helps. Model is 98 4.6 Litre V8

I take it that is the becm under the drivers seat and the fuses you have cleaned are in the drivers seat side. Have you looked at the under bonnet (hood to you) fuse box? Does it smell of burning:)

Y'all are a riot. So, no joy. NAPA contact cleaner did clear up the corrosion, and the cd player and climate control are still getting power as before, but it's like they don't know it's time to turn on. The backlight on the center console for the Econ is on as well. As far as the ignition, I read about that. I haven't. Where do I start?

First off welcome and secondly a big nod to you US Mil guys. You do a great job and very under appreciated in Europe.

The climate control is controlled through the HVAC. The wipers and stereo not. Are you getting any display on the HVAC (heater control unit) or is A/C just not coming on?

A final big hand to you for getting a RR.. I appreciate it's as big as you can get in the UK and not be limited in parking places with an expedition or excursion!

Biketeacherdave has a background in electronics. .. Dave.....

And the under hood components appear to be functioning properly, with the ABS light on until it the truck warms up, then goes away. That has been this way however. Cruise control doesn't work, but I guess that's more of an American thing anyways haha. Not very useful here.

Thank you sir! We enjoy staying in your country. We'd love it more if y'all had more stop lights, but we will settle As far as big cars, my daily is my 99 cadillac deville. I actually learned how to drive on a 01 Expedition, funny enough. I am getting a backlight on the ECON unit but no display. When the wipers and radio stutter on the digits come on and air starts to flow.

And if this helps, they only stutter to life after driving alittle.

ABS will stay lit until the vehicle achieves 7 kph or 5mph. Econ? Is that the air con switch? When the switch light is on the A /C is switched off. Or are you talking about the HEVAC ?

hang on lets get martyuk in here.. this is his area of expertise.. he rebuilds the HVAC units !!

Not sure where @martyuk Is at the moment. Need a copy of RAVE to see where they are all powered from.

Cruise control is usually rotted vacuum pipe.

AC light should be off to work. Any book symbol on the HEVAC? Anyone replaced the unit? Has it ever worked?
