NEEDS NEW ENGINE ,!!!!!!!!!! everything else ok full mot and taxed , thor 4.6 v8 with zavoli l.p.g. ,, basically engine was rebuilt with wards of rugby , top hat liners , warranty ran out after 14 months and has since had 3 more camshafts in last 2 years ,,,123000 ,miles I have now given up ... many many new ancillary parts fitted , still driveable but smoking !!!!!!!!!! nevermind end of an era ,,,, will accept £1500.00. there is also loads of spares available .all working ,,,, regards mozz

Hi Mozz, I know this is a message you won't want to hear but honestly it's just too much money for a 15 year old car that has a bit of a reputation for being not great on the reliability front.

Yours does look and sound like it would be a lovely vehicle but I've just had a look around the market to find other comparable vehicles - yr 2000; 4.6 with lpg; 100,000-ish mls - and my opinion is that your vehicle is worth between £3000 and £4000. I know you've spent loads on it, but it's highly unlikely that you'll get all that money back.

Anyway, the very best of luck with your sale.

PS I am in the market for a £6000 to £7000 Rangey.

I like your sales technique. Having recently been stung on a Disco 2 GS 52 plate from a dealer and paid over the odds for it I am wary of any old vehicle that carries a premium price. My philosophy is buy a **** box for a **** box price so then you can set expectations. Also Biglad is only trying to help, at a starting price of 7K most people are going to be put off. Mine cost me £4300 and replaced the head gasket and injector (£3000) with only 900 miles since I bought it. To top it off this weekend the fuel connector blew on the motorway and spewed a full tank of diesel all over the engine which after a replacement, steam clean inside and out will cost me another £500.

My point being is if I sell it in a year no one is going to give a poo if I'd spent all that money on it. They are only going to buy based on it's mileage and age and consequently 7K for a 15 year old unreliable range rover is steep. I'd probably try putting a lower price for it on ebay and hopefully the auction will be your saviour.

Stick it on the Bay of E with the reserve of your choice, the bids will go up to whatever peeps think it is worth ...
This is a suck it and see approach to valuing your vehicle if you disagree with others ....
