I recently bought a nice pair of original RR roof rails for my P38, again from dear ol' fleabay. They came with all the fittings, screws and rubbers.
I slid back the access points on the roof and slotted the rails in...no problem there...But, when I tried to tighten the clamps, they didn't seem to latch onto the raised roof profile within the channel!....I didn't want to be too rough with them, or to force anything in case I damaged something, so I thought I'd post a request for advice from you guys! Is there a technique or procedure for getting the clamps to bite the profile?..Also, 6 of the hex screws seem to have a pin in the centre of the hex...maybe a special security screw for the outer covers, and I don't have a tool to fit....where can I get hold of one?
Any advice, suggestions or requests to sod-off will be most welcome
Cheers,
