Hello all,

Just rushed in and replaced the center and both rear boxes on my 99 4.6.

BIG MISTAKE. The exhaust I had put on is obviously of poor quality and the noise is awful. Some people might like the loud burble but I want my rangey as it used to be.

Where is the best place to acquire a proper exhaust-one that is as good as the original.

Many thanks

Steve

Thanks for the replies.

I don't know what the system is-it was supplied and put on by the local exhaust garage. It cost £250 for the two rears and center boxes. I should have splashed out a bit more on a quality system.

We live and learn!!

Regards

Steve

'decent' and 'cheap' don't usually go together methinks with exhausts. I'm thinking of going for the cat back Janspeed stainless system as they've been going as long as I remember and have always had an extremely good reputation. Anyone had any experience of this system or the Double S? I'm with Bigjock - I want to hear the burble.

I'm being strongly drawn to the Janspeed Cat back system too. I want to hear the V8 burble but don't want to be deafened by it.

Looking at pics on the web, the Jansped should be better than the Double S as it has been designed with gas flow in mind. The double S is a direct copy of the original system with a T section at the split to the rear boxes. The Janspeed uses a Y split.

I think the Janspeed looks the nuts. Personally, I think the quad exit on the double-s is too much, but each to their own.

Now, I just have to hope mine is blowing in the right place, so the wife will let me buy one of these muthas heh heh heh....
