Hi,

Got a 2001 P38 2.5 diesel that is due for an mot in the next fortnight. One of the EAS ride height sensors has gone a bit flaky and is reading lower than it should according to the Nanocom. When it faults, sometimes it works just fine, it goes into high mode rather than going onto the bumpstops.

Will it pass an MOT with the EAS in that condition, I've got a new part but just don't have the time to fit it right now.

Thanks

John

Yes, it's likely to fault while it is being tested. If you sit for any length of time in park or neutral with the engine running it usually faults. If you get in and drive off straight away it usually behaves.

Still faults with inhibit in or out, its very annoying as it can be fine for a journey, but if you then get stopped at traffic lights it will fault and go into high mode.

Talked to the MOT man, explained the problem, got a new MOT with an advisory stating EAS warning light on dash. All good for me.
