p38 EAS fault and 35 mph only displayed

would anyone be able to guide me in the right direction please. I have a 1996 4.6 range rover with a air suspension fault.
was working as should, raises, lowers on the height switch, drove it home after 10miles car was on its bump stops :-(

pump cannot be heard running.
checked fuses - all ok.
tried another relay no difference.
bypass pump relay and compressor works fine.
checked codes in suspension and none logged.

what items can cause the pump not to be activated and where located?

all help appreciated!

Thermo switch in pump
 
Not sure if snapon can read p38
If I remember right someone once said the ob2 connector in the p38 eas if wired up diferantly
send datatec a pm for his data cable and you'll be able to do it with a regular laptop

or stick your location in your profile and maybe someone local to you will have a go
 
Check thermal switch testing in Wammers' How To guide. It isn't always 100% accurate (that particular test, not the guide!) but it is a damn good starting point.

have checked the thermal switch, has good continuity and if do ground the orange wire compressor still doesn't run :-(

can the pressure switch cause the pump not to run?
 
Hello I've the same problem, my eas just went on limp mode as I was driving, I've tested my pump, took the blue pipe of, hard wired the relay and ran the pump I could keep my finger over the hole hardly no pressure at all so sent for a repair kit,, hopefully it will pump up a d I can have a look for leeks

Leeks are tasty in a stew:rolleyes:
If the pump has failed, odds on you have leaking air springs, they have a design life of 7/8 years 80K miles

My comp packed up a couple of months ago. When I finally got a chance to check it out I did all you did. Then found that the power plug from the comp to wiring loom had melted internally - nasty job. When I took the comp off and connected it to a 12v supply it came to life. No damage at all to the pump. Check that plug mate if you haven't already.
