Hello all,

I have found a thread here re servicing schedule for a P 38 for major mileage milestones - thank you Charlotte.

Over the years some major items have been found to be in need of replacement in various models - not included in the service schedule set by LR.

I am looking at a 100k diesel P38 - manual ( 1995 ) - standard spec and with limited service history - details tba. What major items could one expect that should have been replaced by now ?

I am handy with a spanner and don't mind getting my hands dirty if I buy it. Any input would be appreciated.

Regards

Alexander

just because its done 100k doesnt mean anything should be replaced, it depends on how its got there that counts. providing its had the axle oils, transfer box and gearbox oil changed along with the usual service items it should be sound. i bought my p38 diesel with manual box just before it had done 100k, i service the engine every 3000 miles and use full synthetic oil ( some say thats a bit much) and have had no problems at all with it so far and its just coming upto 160k now. look after the beast and it will/should look after you.
