I am v. new to this and an enthusiastic but duffer DIYer.
Short point : 2.5 diesel filled with petrol ( £70 Squids worth) : after much struggling with pumps finally realised that the easy way to empty the tank is to disconnect fuel line from tank ( push fit) , connect hose to same and turn on ignition ( fires out a couple of pints per turn).
When I was then about to replace fuel filter ,the fuel line connector (plastic)to filter housing disintegrated in my hand ( see pic) : efforts to extract remainder from filter housing caused further disintegration :eventually managed to extract on straight pull with mole grips from a v. short tag end that was left in the filter housing. Had to replace complete fuel line.

The completed job coincidentally seems to have fixed a cutout/hesitation problem which previously occurred at high revs : is it possible that there was a crack or defect in the plastic connector ?
I just pass this on for what it's worth.

Hi Im brand new to the site and have had a look at many Landy sites and this one seems the most informative and I am hoping for some quality advice. I have the exact same problem with the snapped elbow on the fuel filter outlet pipe.I am struggling with a part number to replace the pipe coming from the front of the filter ( looking at it from the front of the car, I am not that mechanically minded but it appears to have the same snap in plastic connector coming out of the outlet side of the filter housing and drops down to what I assume is the fuel injection pump towards the bottom end of the engine. Part of this pipe is clear and part of it is black rubber. Is the pipe a complete part ie the black and clear, or are they separate parts. The part number I have is STC4213 but on google images this is a clear pipe only ,but does appear to have the correct filter side plug . Also what fitting needs to be on the other end of it. Hoping someone can help.
Thanks Doddler
any guidance appreciated please guys n gals.

STC4213 is the pipe from the filter to the FIP it is fitted with a banjo union at the pump end and a bayonet fitting into the filter. Rimmers stock them.

I think the first one esr2960 looks a bit long but can't really make it out as it is wrapped up in the pic. TAKdrivers pic is the part I need. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed part no STC4213.
Thanks

looks like you need the one Saint has posted up

Not if it's the pipe from the front of the filter to the FIP which is what i think he says. STC4213 is the correct part number for the later version fitted with a banjo union. STC2296 is the earlier version fitted with a tube nut up to Vin# WA409249

in his picture it shows the pipe is black? the pipe at the front is clear?

Yes but that is not the photo of Doddler the poster asking about STC4213 that is TAKdrivers photo. Doddler says it is at the front of the filter looking from the front of the car. And is a clear pipe.

Esr2960 1 pipe-feed-fuel lines, connector to filter, with diesel engines

thats what TAKdriver fitted according to my parts list.

It is indeed ESR2960 pipe from tank to filter. All diesels. But Doddler is not asking about that pipe he is asking about the clear one to injection pump. STC2296 clear pipe from filter to fuel injection pump, with tube nut fitting at pump end straight bayonet fitting at filter end. Up to VIN WA409249. STC4213 clear pipe filter to injection pump. Banjo fitting at pump end straight bayonet fitting at filter end. From VIN WA409250.

yes, you are quite right again dear Wammers. (message to self: GET SOME SLEEP AND WEAR YOUR BLOODY GLASSES!)

Been to dealers today and I don't think I could of been clearer.. I informed the guy in parts it was the pipe that comes out of the front of the filter housing and down to the fuel injection pump.. Yet he gives me the feed into the filter housing.. Losing the will right now..
