p38 dash lights

Bought my 1995 p38 4.0 se on last week. Full service history, all the toys work, and a lovely drive. But I have a problem. Was out last evening, as it started getting dark, put the lights on. All game on except the dash and switch lights. Have checked fuse 1 in the box under driver seat, and that is ok. the information center still works, heater display is ok, but not the lights on the buttons. It is just all the switch, and dash lights that are off. I wen and bought a plug in light, that realy for boy racers, but atleast in can see how fast im going. I have checked that the plugs are fully connected, but thats about as far as i got sofar. Any help?????

Have you tried altering them on the dimmer (the little switch on top of the left hand stalk)? Otherwise it could be a break in the wires from this switch (or a shed load of blown bulbs - but unlikely I know).

Yes it was the dimmer switch. How stupid do I feel. At least it all working now, not having to have a torch on dash any more. must have turned it off while indercating. Thank you.

If it makes you feel any better i did the same... but figured out what id done lol... with a P38 you will do "dafter" things mate,
