Hi All......

Looking for some help here please.....

I have a 99 P38 2.5DSE auto......She was sat all night, then this morning I drove about a mile and all of a sudden she cuts out, complete engine stop then rolled to a stop about 100metres after that, whilst still in drive, no when you turn the key it just clicks.

After looking under the bonnet I found that the cooler tank cap wasn't on properly and it had no water in there all

Recovery came out and couldn't work out what was wrong with it, I have spoken to a pal who is in the series 2 owners club and all he could suggest was looking to see if any wires or plugs had come out, are there any suggestions/ideas what might be wrong????

Just to let you know as well, she had a torque converter done about 4 weeks ago at a garage, since then when you put your foot to the floor there is a massive loss of power, it will speed up as long as you do it gradually....

Please help as i'm tearing my hair out.....

Many thanks

Sounds to me like you`ve more than one problem. Firstly the gearbox: if it was worse after the torque converter was "done", than before than that`s a problem for the garage doing the job?
Engine not starting, not turning over:you`ll just have to take your time and check every thing systematically; maybe start with the battery and with a multi-meter check for good earths on engine, starter-body, check fuses and relays trace the live path with a voltmeter.
No coolant.. for how long? Was it just the header tank dry, or the whole system? Think you`ve more than a five minute job afore you.
