hello,
i am just wondering if i have a fault with the eas,as when i stop in traffic the back and front seem to go up and down,it seems as though it is bored with sitting stationary too long,it did this before i replaced the airbags,i have no eas fault, and the compressor is not always running, the compressor light on the dash goes out and stays out.
is it doing it's self levelling thing?

There is always a little movement after braking, if it's excessive it could be a sign that the drive pack is on the way out, or it could be a dodgy height sensor. Have you actualy read the faults to see if anything is logged?

thankyou for the reply datatek,i have not read the faults yet, that is worth looking into, how much is a drive pack?
don't think it is a dodgy height sensor as it just seems to level itself.
i will have to do a further investigation.

When you stop in traffic do you select neutral and apply the handbrake, if so I would say that it is just self levelling. Try keeping your foot on the foot brake, if it doesn't change height I'd say it's ok. When you are in neutral and your foot is off the brake it will assess and adjust about every 6 seconds or so...

that sounds as though that is what it is doing,it just seemed a bit bizarre, but it is a normal p38 thing.
thankyou for the info

Thats why they cost a fortune when new,,, self leveling gizmo, if it settles when your handbrake is on, and in neutral or park ... all is ok.... if it dances when in gear, foot on brake,, you may have a problem... enjoy the high tech..

The movement should hardly be noticable. If it is excessive,it may well be a symptom of leaking o rings in the valvebox.
