 Oztent RV1 - what a great little tent, shame about the cost. I just hope the investment will return a few years of service.

Has anyone owned an Oztent for a while? What are the problem / weak areas other than my overdraft???

whats 2k? the RV1 is around £500. IVe heard that the stitching is sometimes a bit iffy on new ones from the supplier so give it all a good check 1st. Dont think there have been many, if any complaints about certain areas. i think that if you look after it, it should last a fair few years.

Aha! The famous Oz Tent! Where have you been, what did you do with Oz Tent so far? Have you managed a mini trip as yet?
We've just got back from Spain (cheated by flying as only had 5 days) but did a bit of reconnaisance in Tarragona - fantastic place. Stayed out in the back of beyond in a tiny village Have a good base camp area if anyone ever interested in this neck of the woods anytime (about 1.5 hours from Barcelona).

We are going to go to that same area of spain next year. Can't decide wether to drive down and get ferry back (Bilboa) or do ferry both ways. I'm glad you liked it. Been trying to find sites that are a bit wild but still striking distance of coast. Lots on uk-campsite forum.

Did a trip to the wye valley over bankhols, as you would expect the weather was bad, bud a good test for the Oztent.

Not found any stitching issues but was missing a crossbar pole from the side panels. Boab sent it on super fast delivery, i take the blame for not checking the contents before purchase.

I have used mine a few times now. It really is the business. Takes a bit to get the nack of a quick pitch especially with the side panels but well worth the effort. It has taken on some seriouse welsh wet and windy weather with no probs so should be good for a trans euro trip.

I have just bought a brownchurch rack and tent and i spent a week in eastern europe in it. It was extremely cold but the tent and rack were great at a reasonable price.

hi there had a oztent now for about 2 years, last year we camped over the the new year and found it nice and warm, :eek:yes thats new year it was minus 4 in the night, but we stayed warm ours is the rv4 with front and side panels. the only thing i would say is check the ground for anything sharp or stones.common sense really:)...... and could you tell use please where you were camping when you took those pic thanks

Got a trip to Pembrokeshire planned next weekend for some canoe action so getting the Oztent ready for it's first outing of 2009. I have purchased a small log burner, recycled from a gas bottle and i am hoping to use it as heating for the Oztent. I'll let you know how i get on.
