Hi-when I got my disco, 96 300 tdiI got no handbook, would someone be kind enough to say what oils are reccomended for:1 gearbox 2.transfer box 3.front and rear diffs-I am assuming it is ep 80 or ep 90 -but would be nice to know proper ones.
Also having just done my clutch (aren't the bell housing nuts a laugh-the top ones are a cracker!-had about 3-4 feet of bars on the socket set).My front diff input bearing and oil seal are shot-any ideas for a replacement bearing and seal kit.
Thanks in advance
ps Only bought the landy last August-and already had to do clutch-what comes next I wonder

no offence chap but that's the kinda question that has been asked (and answered) a zillion times on every land rover forum

hence the addition of the search feature above, using that will ensure LZ doesn't get filled with lots of repeats questions

welcome to LZ

Engine oil: 7 ltrs of 10w-40 semi synth.
Main gearbox: - 3 ltrs of MTF94 - DO NOT USE EP OILS IN THIS BOX
Transfer box and both axles: - 6ltrs of EP80-90 GL5

Thanks for the replies guys-i know the search function exists, but when you are short of time and want to get something on order before the sun goes down, direct response is quicker-anyway thanks for the welcome
Anyone want to know anything about making biodiesel?

that's bollocks, just look how long it took before someone spoon fed you the answer - your not telling me it'd have taken you that long to google for it ?

your mother does not work here:rolleyes:

What you call spoon feeding the answer is what I understand the forum is for, sharing specific ideas and knowledge-otherwise why not google everything-why bother with a specific forum at all.
What that very kind member did for me is what I would do likewise by return if I have the information.
For your information,I did a search on the forum for changing the clutch-it took most of one evening to get to the specific posts, wading thru the adverts etc and irrelevant posts-if you don't believe me try it.
Now I'm the new kid on the block, and don't want to fall out with anyone-but also I am not going to be absorbing crap-if you don't want to help, don't bother posting-have a nice w'end.

I've just tried googling as requested

Discovery clutch change - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

how long did that take ?

"wading thru the adverts" - you weren't on this forum then

I have also retried and as before,it comes up with 10 possible hits underneath the adverts not one is for a discovery-there is stuff for 90's,110's defender's,free landers etc.Either your search is different or I am doing something wrong.
Anyway time to move on-Don't suppose anyone fancies posting spec sheet from their Disco manual-also be nice to know what half the dash buttons do!!

wouldn't this be an ideal opportunity for you to practise your search techniques or are you expecting more spoon feeding ?

sounds like your computer has spyware, works for Sean and I get the same result
