Oil warning light

Got a '98 300tdi and has worked beautifully so far but in the last couple of weeks the oil light has come on when idling.
Chugging around minor roads everthing is OK at idle but if I go at 65+ for a few miles then the light will come on at idle but then will be ok again at lower speeds. The temp goes up very slightly at a higher speed then comes down again at slower and this seems to dictate when the light will come on

So far I've changed oil and filter, next will be pressure relief valve after that I haven't a clue

Has the light come on since your oil change,? what grade of oil are you using ? you may have a faulty oil pressure switch, easy to replace and only a £5.00

Had similar symptons on my '99 Td5 last month. After fitting a new oil pressure switch the light hasn't returned in over 3,000 miles. Job done.

Same with my 98 300

Oil light on after long run etc etc
list was made up for fix and replacement

crank bearings,
oil pump and pick up
oil pressure switch

so being yorkshire put them in price and ease of doing order

changed the oil pressure switch 4K ago, and still awaiting for the oil light to come back on
