Oil Spray

Hi, was out tugging with my 300Tdi the other weekend, when I got home and unhitched the caravan I noticed there was a fine spray of oil over the left hand side of the 'van opposite the exhaust pipe. I know is was oil and not soot staining because it was 'wet' when I stuck my finger into it. Is this normal, or do I have something very expensive about to go tits up. The car has it's standard exhaust system with cat (as yet) and was towing a BIG heavy twin axle 'van.

Whilst in my ownership I have changed to oil & filter every 3 thou and use a good quality semi synthetic in the vain hope of making the engine last!!!!

Any ideas??????

Turbo bearing oil seals going on the exhaust side?

^^^ possible ^^^ but check/replace the crankcase breather filter on the engine.

Thanks' guys, will check & clean the breather first, as have no idea how to diagnose the turbo's oil seals. As I am unduly pessimistic it will probably be the turbo oil seal quietly letting go. Can this be replaced or do I have to have a new turbo? :frusty:
