the seal on the diff where the propshaft bolts to leaks, so I was going to put some cv grease in the axel to thicken it up and stop the leak temp . can feel no play so don't think anything else in the diff is moving to cause the seal to leak.will only be a tempory measure ish till Iget round to replacing the seal. will this be ok or am I waisting time and just get the seal replaced.oh its the rear diff.

what has extende breathers? your axle? their no where near the diff pinion. take out bothends of the breather pipe and blow through it. or if its really blocked, take it down to your local garage station and use the tyre inflator things. failing that, submerge it in hot water for 24hrs, whatever is in there should loosen up and clear. you can drive around normally without breather pipes in... no panic.
