Oil pump removal issue

Sumps off and removed the two bolts holding the oil pump in but for the life of me I can’t get it to budge.

I haven’t gone to town on it yet but it’s stuck fast, am I missing something?

It feels like I’m missing a bolt or something but workshop manual says just those two.

just 2 bolts if its 200 tdi or earlier

no ,could have had sealant or loctite applied

Once the bolts are out will it rotate? Might help me get it out but don’t want to damage any thing

yes should twist easy enough

Last question james, when I finally get the new pump in do I need to prime it? I’m putting a new pump (not rebuilding the old one).

no it sits below the oil level,so is self priming

One more question James do I meet to put any sealant on when I put a new pump back in?

no just the gasket

There’s a gasket for the pump? Manual didn’t mention that! Also wasn’t one on the one I took off. Never mine will get one ordered. Thanks
