i am trying to fit an oil presure gauge to my 200tdi so i have fitted a tee peace put the oil presure switch on there and the oil presure sender to the otherside put an 12 volt feed from the sender to the gauge and then another live to the gauge and a eath but it still will not work no matter what i do just seeing if any of you guys no what is wrong.

from what you have written, it seems you are giving a 12v feed to the sender and the gauge at the same time, fair enough, but shouldn't there be a signal cable from the sender to the gauge too ?
 
it is some time since i looked at these - but doesnt the gauge have power (and earth for a light) and then power is sent from the gauge to the sender and then to earth?

yep, for a resistive sender - but the sender has to match the gauge

if it's a capillary one .....
 
i bought the gauge and the sender from the same person and they say it is the correct sender for the gauge thank for your replys i will have another play with it later.
