Hi all. Have searched but most posts are about oil pressure gauges for the dash.
I would like a recommendation for an oil pressure gauge to check my pressure once a year on a service. Have seen online from ££££ to a Clark at £35. Also will need to ensure the gauge comes with the correct adapter I believe it’s 10mm 1mm pitch.
The reason for this is yesterday my oil warning came on constantly (not flickering) on my way to the tip and back. And is still on this morning. No warning ⚠️ just came on. Engine sounds ok but of course i do not want to run it without changing the switch, oil and filter and checking pressure before delving further.
Thanks as always in advance
Sean

Oil gauges!
Love em!
Don't know why you wouldn't want one on your dash, unless it is an aesthetic thing.
Anyway places like this https://www.europaspares.com/interior-parts/instruments-gauges/racetech-gauges.html
Have a whole load. the link goes to a £40 one.
and this lot do loads of stuff too. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI46DtraWt7gIVgWDmCh2QZQBiEAAYASAAEgI1SfD_BwE

"Did you know (My Cocaine talking here) that some of the (female) ferry pilots during the war (Yes, Uncle albert speaking now) said they didn't care what instruments were not working on the damaged planes they were flying off for repair, as long as they had an oil pressure gauge." :):):)
I ran a kit car club for years and one guy had put three gauges under his bonnet so he could keep an eye on things while working on it. Identical to the ones on his dash. i think they were oil pressure, temp and voltmeter, but i could be wrong.
In the old days you could get a nice oil pressure gauge, capillary, not electrical, from an old style Mini De Luxe. I have one in one of my kit cars.
My other kit has one that takes oil pressure and converts it into an electrical signal.

I have the sealey kit, and I have used it on a 200 tdi before.
But I see they are now 90 quid, pretty sure I paid 35/40 quid years ago!

If there is no rush I would get one of the cheapies off ebay and see if the supplied adaptor are any good, 15 quid got to be worth a punt?

Thanks All
I will leave the gauge for now as I have started my rebuild - however I fixed the oil pressure warning light - on all the time issue.
It was the switch itself - swapped it out and light went straight out . interesting that the old switch must have been the original from 1993 - had to find an old 1" spanner to get it out - the new switch was 17mm !
