Hi all
Strange one this our drive is on a side slope, if we park our new to us 2000 2ltr diesel Freelander (note it's ours when it's running, mine when it's broke) with the drivers side high, the engine oil light does not go out until you get it on the flat or takes some time to go out. But, with the passenger side high or on the flat goes out imediately. Yes I have checked the oil level at work on the flat. and it's on max. thoughts that cross my mind are
1) Wrong dipstick ie to long therefore not enough oil.
2) Faulty switch.
3) Oil Pump knackered.
4) oil pick up pipe displaced.
To rule these
1) Could some kind soul measure there dipstick?
2) What should the oil pressure be, if I can fit a gauge i can measure it?
3) Is there a non return valve fitted in the pump?
4) Do the pick up's come loose had this on another car?
Any other ideas or suggestions welcome.
Thank Brian
