can any1 explain how to stop the oil leak from my o/s rear hub please as im new to the landrover and have not get mechanical knowlegde :( cheers Weee man

It's either the rubber dust cap which sits on the hub, a simple & cheap job to do or it's the hub seal further in.

The first choice is a case of removing the rubber dust cap ( buy a new one first! ), emerse the new one in very hot water, and push it on with a little force ( rubber hammer time ).

If this doesn't work then it's a strip down job of the rear wheel assembly, check out Buster's guide to renewing the wheel bearings, the seal replacement is part of it:

If this doesn't solve the issue, then check buster's photo thread here:

have you checked that your axle breather isn't blocked....... if it is whatever you do will be pointless unless you unblock it as it will just **** oil out again

What he said anorl, the breather is a clear 8mm pipe that runs from your axle up under the body work, undo the bolt on the axle and give it a good blow, if it's clear then read above ;)
