Oil changes/engine +gearbox

Hi guys
Is it worth adding some engine flush before changing oil plus same for gearbox?
What would you recommend? What would you avoid.
Any extra tips great fully received
Series2a 1970 with original gearbox but 200tdi discovery engine

If you think the engine needs a flush, just drain the old oil and change the filter, put some budget oil in and run it for a week or so, then drain and replace the filter and refill with a decent quality oil. Same with the gearbox, just do a couple of changes.
