If you change the oil on a 300tdi, try disconnecting the oil cooler pipes from the rad, and flushing through - you'll be truly amazed at the thick, gungy oil that comes out! I did use a Flush before the oil change, but it didn't shift this muck.

After all, you flush the intercooler, and the coolant rad....... so why not?

PS: you'll need about 8 litres of oil to refill :)

8 litres? I think 300 is just under 7 with a dry engine, ie a brand new never used engine.
Cooler only comes into play when oil gets hot enough and the stat opens.

Flushed with fresh oil from the pump at work :)

7 litres went in, and a bit more to bring it up to max on the dipstick

I know the feeling:D
Sadly where I now work I have to buy my own engine oil for the first time in 30 years:eek:
