Sometime ago I replaced my fuel pump with an aftermarket one and the fuel gauge started reading wrong which turned out to be that i had been supplied a Defender pump instead of Discovery which only read half full when full, i struggled on but when my fuel gauge packed in all together I replaced the fuel pump with a genuine LR unit assuming the aftermarket sender had failed all together. When this didn't cure the fuel gauge I assumed the gauge itself was faulty in the dash pod and ordered a used one off fleebay. I fitted this with no joy and it turned out to be a wiring fault somewhere along the chassis. I've replaced the original speedo pod and fixed the wiring fault but my mileage is now flashing even though the original pod matching the ECU is refitted. Is there a way of resetting this to stop it flashing or does it need to be plugged in?
If it needs plugging in is there anyone near Bolton who can come and do it for beer tokens?

Take it you pushed the reset button on the odometer.
Have you tried the usual reboot thing of disconnecting the batt, leaving it a while etc, etc?

In simple terms ,it normally means your ECU is seeing a different mileage to what the odometer has stored. If you can get a nanocom plugged in then you can turn off the specific flag that makes the odometer flash. It is a two minute job to switch it off.

Have done it a few times when people have had to have the vehicle towed / battery disconnected.

Cheers

Thank you , hoping someone local can do this as I will be selling mu D2 to finance my D1 resto so don't want to buy a nanocom.
