Hi folks, its my first post here. I recently have bought Freelander 2001 Petrol 1.8 and all is fine (more o r less) but this LCD makes me very angry, as it switches back from TRIP to ODO meter after turning on ignition - no matter what was displayed previously. In other words: whenever I start engine or put ignition to position II, the LCD starts to display ODO, while I want a TRIP instead. Pressing the button does the job, but I am tired to do it every time I start to drive...
Any advice to have TRIP displayed by default?

Dont think so, I have an MG ZS which is very similar clocks and that does it too

From memory, the pre-facelift reverts to total vehicle mileage, however on the facelift, the display remains on whichever it's set on.

I actually leave mine on total miles, as I need that information for putting the figures into my MPG calculator app.

It's also helpful to have a constant reminder of when to swap the tyres front to back. ;)

That sounds reasonable ;) So what mileage is recommended?

I don't know of any official recommend distance to swap the tyres. I like to swap mine before there's a difference of 1mm. I find this is about 2.5K miles on my current tyres. It's important that the tyres remain within 1mm difference, or the VCU will start to lock, causing transmission damage. If the difference is more than 1mm, then the larger tyres should remain on the rear.

This system only works for identical tyres, as odd tyres destroy the 4X4 system anyway.
