Odd imobilser probs

Hi,

Anyone got any idea on this please... car occaisionaly wont lock with the fob it's as though one of the dorrs isn't full closed and it blips and unlocks the doors again. Sometimes when I go to start the car I get a red car sign on the dashboard and have to press the unlock button on the fob and it'll them let me start the car. it's a two buttob fob and the battery in it seems fine ( 3.4 v on the multimeter )

Before u go further with the digging MAKE CERTAIN that the fob's battery is fine, voltage measurement with multimeter isnt relevant......put a new one and see what happens........and the car's battery is very important to be strong too.

Thanks..I'll replace the battery but surely it'd would either work or not wouldn't it or have you had a similar experience ?

Yes I had...... but mine is a Disco 2 which is even funnyest when the alarm/immo goes mad by no reason.......I replaced fob battery and car battery then everything worked. On Disco 1 i've seen that could occure so named "dry joints" in the fuse box .......if battery replacement didnt help search for these(there are threads about it i.e Anti theft/engine immobiliser activated? - Land Rovers Only - Land Rover Forum )

where are you I know brilliant chap in the south east he sorted every thing with my fobs etc.

Hi, any other suggestions please. Replaced the fob battery but still get erratic locking and sometimes have to press the unlock button to get rid of the red car symbol on the dashboard so I can start the car even though all I've done is turn it the engine off to put fuel in..cheers

Have look at Remote Key's site as they do mention that the fobs can go out of tune and require repairing.

gent's and ladies..any other ideas... it went away for a few days but now its back..when I press the lock button rhere's 2 beeps and the car unlocks itself so I lock with the key. Then when I unlock using the fob I sometimes have to press unlock again as the imobiliser's still on ?
