just replaced front suspension leg on my freelander 1 td4,got an almost brand new one off the shelf for £40 what bargain.I had bit of struggle with the 2 bottom bolts but they finally gave in with a bit of heat and a scaffold pole.the old girl steers lovely again now no clunks when turning corners. The old leg had a seized top bearing and was well rusty.surprising my self at the work i can do on the old beast considering that i have just turned 69 its almost a pleasure to work on it.got sun roof to replace when weather picks up the usual rust and leaks, hoping i can get a good second hand one money a bit tight on a pension these days.

Well done for changing the LH strut. However you're best bet is to replace the RH side too. Shock must always be changed in pairs if imbalances under heavy breaking are to be avoided. Also make sure you get the partner shock of the LH strut. There are about 5 different shock specifications available for the front, depending on vehicle age and specification.
