Hi

done mine about a month ago £1.75 from flebay and a sunday on the tools all you need is a few scredrivers and long arms and fingers that bend both ways, should take you about 4 hours as a DIY, lots ofino on the site. please mail me if you need any advice.

Tony:)

I've got to do mine soon. Not looking forward to it!

Silly question, but were the ebay o rings decent quality? I suppose only time will tell, but I would hate to have to do it again. I read somewhere that the screw should be replaced at the same time.

Hi

well they were black round and rubbery and fitted in the tubes and thats about it, better than the two hard things I had to cut off that were certainly not doing the job and hadnt been for a long time me thinks.

I pain in the ass fiddly liltte job but gave me a great deal of satisfaction when done.

don't be scarred give it a go.

I'm thinking of doing my heater o rings this weekend...

Assuming the screw will be knackered, can anyone supply more information on it so that I can get a replacement before I start?

Someone on fleabag is selling o rings with a new screw, but it's massively expensive for the combined kit compared with just the o rings.

The screw is M5 X about 30mm. long. I suggest you get a stainless steel socket cap head which will enable you to use a ball ended allen key (Size 4mm) in future as you can fit the key in at an angle and still tighten it enough.
Didn't bother with the LR "O" rings when I did mine, got them from Barnwell Services in Smethwick, West Midlands (Bag of 25) and they are still going strong after 5 years.

Land Rover don't make "O" rings...if they did they would be a load of ****e.
