Hi fellas, any ideas re the following....
I have a 4.0 y reg Rangey. Had a brand new lpg system 500 miles ago. Had a very slight misfire when I took it in and was told to change the leads. Misfire seems to have gone slightly worse and mpg is atrotious. I was getting 13 around town and 20 on a run, now getting 150 miles from a tank of gas, and thats all motorway. Tank is 95 litre although I think only actually takes 76 litres. I have also developed a whine which I can`t determine whether its from the gearbox or the diff. When it engages in top gear at about 35-40 there is a slight wobble which goes off at about 45 or when you back off the accelerator. It doesn`t happen in a lower gear at the same road speed..i.e if I drop the gearbox to 3rd. Any ideas and do I need a bank loan to sort it!!!! Thanks in anticipation... P.s the wobble goes away but the whine stays...

Hello again,
So things are going from bad to worse. Had a slight misfire at low revs, until just above tick over, then seemed to clear and car ran fine at motorway speeds. After waiting for my Magnecor leads to arrive, fitted them last night and the slight misfire has turned into a serious misfire, so much so that the car shakes and can`t get to 60 on the motorway and no pull whatsoever going uphill. I`ve double checked that all the leads are seated properly and that they are all in the correct order etc.......... I really am pulling at my hair now..... Any ideas please!!!!!! would be really appreciated. These things always happen when you really need the car!!! Thanks in anticipation....

try warming it up on your driveway, get some body to put foot on gas, and pull your maf senser out. take it for a run, with the maf out, report back let us know if any better..

I think i would check the positioning of the leads again. Sounds like you have a couple crossed. Carbon leads are a pain in the arse. They are made with a built in resistence. Over time and use the resistance increases causing a weak spark. This can also cause a plugs insulation to break down. The spark jumps from the insulator without getting to the electrode. Check lead positions, check plugs.

Wammers you`re a genius. Just spent an hour ripping the skin off my forearms again to check the position of the leads and found 4 + 6 crossed at the coil. She now runs smooth as silk. Thanks again... Now to fill with gas and see if the mpg improves now that I`m using all 8 cylinders... Thanks till next time.....

bear in mind to get the same performance on gas as with petrol the engine will use slightly more gas both mine average 12-14 mpg on gas {start stop trips} and ive never had anymore than 18mpg on gas
also you cant work out your mpg on gas from the message centre , the only way is fill her right up drive as normal untill you need to refill the see how much you had to put in against the miles travelled:)
