Hi All,

Having a little trouble with my disco.
Started Saturday evening were it wouldn't rev above 3000 ish RPM
Cleaned plug on ECU which was full of oil to no avail. Optimistically changed injector wiring harness this evening again to no avail.
Wastegate seems free to move,
Bypassed the waste gate modulator so to speak by fitting a boost controller (not sure if this would actually work or not) again same result.
Disconnected all the sensors on the air intake side and still seemed the same, just ran rough and misfired as you'd probably expect.
Are there any other suggestions?
Could it be a code that needs clearing to get it out of limp mode?

It's a TD5, egr blanked, otherwise standard, all filters and oil around 7000 miles old

Thanks in advance
Will keep you informed of any updates

Mate is bringing diagnostics comp home tomorrow, no engine management lights on the dash though.
But then again none appeared even with no connected sensors

Update :-

Car plugged in tonight. Nothing unusual. All sensors seemed fine. Got some odd readings on cylinder RPM but nothing definitive.

I'm going to try and get fuel pressure tested tomorrow 1 way or another.

Could it be one of the fuel lines, namely the one that is prone to chafing, drawing in air?

Was hoping the diagnostics would be more informative.

Fuel lines don't normally draw in air they leak fuel.

Just spoke to a chap who said the same. His dad's had the fuel line problem and reported p**sing out diesel.

Thinking of changing fuel filter tomorrow if I can get the afternoon off work and checking that the fuel pump doesn't have any sort of blockage

Update -

Took the pump out to inspect, all seemed ok, a little bit of gunk on the bottom but really not that much.
Put it back in and set off down the road to test and pick up a fuel filter.
Inevitably the thing died on me in the most inconvenient place on the route.

Fuel pump had totally given up. New pump problem solved, like a new one once again!

Problem now is the sender doesn't seem to be working properly, the old one was a little off but I was aware so never let it get below a quarter of a tank but I've now lost about half a tank on the gauge so something isn't right there.

Thanks for every bodies help

good that you got it working
the fuel sender float arm is bent
I had the same issue how I solved the issue was that I removed the sender and drained the tank empty this also was a good time to clean out tank then added fuel roughly 1/8 of a tank give a take a few litres but I think I added in just over 10 litres of fuel
I installed the sender unit and I was reading over quarter tank I removed the sender unit a few times slightly bending float arm each time to get the correct fuel level reading
in my case I needed to bend the float arm down
it took me a few attempts but now perfect

Just an update on the sender,
As I thought it was reading low figured the best way to see how low was to fill it it, low and behold the needle went straight to full. It would seem it was the old sender on the knackered pump that was off. (Probably should have seen that coming)
At least all is well and the car starts and runs again now. Until the next inevitable problem ;)
