Thought I'd give this forum a chance. Been searching around for Days on different forums and can't find anyone with the same problem: In short: Changed the fuelpump on My Disco 2 Td5as the old one was getting weak. Started fine and took it for a drive and really felt the difference. Not slowing down uphills anymore etc. Parked the car for a few hours and took it out for a new ride. Now I got about 1,5km and then it stopped. Totally dead, but I could hear the fuelpump running and it cranked as expected but no start. Nothing on Nanocom but: I have 4,5 bar when measured at the fuel temp sensor hole in the regulator but not a drop of diesel coming out from the return at the front of the block. Shouldn't there be a constant flow when the fuel pump is running?
I have done most of the other replacements like MAF sensor, Wastegate Control, Injector harness, etc.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Read engine speed and battery voltage with nanocom while cranking and report the results.... AAMOF there should be flow on the return with pump running, can you feel diesel smell at the exhaust while you crank it

No diesel smell at all, no smoke, nothing. I have ordered new valves for the fuel filter - the air bleed and nonreturn valve, and a new fuel pressure regulator. I was thinking that it has to be something blocking the fuel at the level of the regulator since there is flow and pressure at the regulator but not at the other side of the injectors. I suspected the small gauze tube filter in the block after the regulator but could not see any obvious blocking. Anyway it is soaking in claner now. When I get the parts I will put everything together and give it a new try. I'm not near the car at the moment, not until the weekend. Will try and crank and do the readings then. However, the battery is a few months old heavy duty battery which I keep fully charged during these hard times...
Oh, just remembered another thing: When I crank the engine I geet beepings and the warning lamp for Hill descent control failure lights up...
Thanks for your interest. Will give reports as soon as I tested.

So, new fuel pressure regulator and cleaned gauze filter. Still nothing from the return. Nanocom says 200 rpm and 10,1 volt while cranking. I suspect the air bleed valve at the filter. Waiting for delivery. If the membrane in the valve is broken so fuel can return freely maybe it would be the reason why nothing is coming from the return? What do you think?

Success!
After replacing the air bleed valve and do the bleed procedure while increasing the pressure by clamping the return from the fuel pressure regulator with pliers (got the idea from another LR owner) she started like a charm! Took her for a 40km drive and no problems.
