I was out for a run the other night and ran past this in somebody's scrap metal pile outside their house. I offered to give it a better home than being weighed in for scrap, and was told to help myself. Plan is to be able to tow my little lad around behind the garden tractor.

Anyway, a bit (ok a lot) of work and it now looks like this...

However I'm now looking for a very specific type of Landy style dropdown tailgate antiluce fastener. It needs to look exactly like this...I want to screw it to the "end" panels, which are fixed, so I can drop the "side" panels.

I think it's called a cranked antiluce, and although I can find them in New Zealand, I can't find a UK supplier...

All I can find in the UK is the standard weld on (no good as I can't weld to wood!) or bolt on (which means I'll need some kind of right angles bracket anyway.

Any pointers people?

Have you checked farm equip parts suppliers?
You might get more suggestions if you show it with the panels in situ.
Cheers Rob

Not a silly question at all people, but my welding isn't great, and I'd rather get something already pre-fabricated and galvanised.

...I could do that, I was just hoping someone was going to say "xyz supplier has them" or "ah, what you want to ask for is double cranked galvanised widget grommets as that's what they are called in the UK".

I'm in no hurry so the NZ option might be my best!

Thanks listerdiesel...I didn't know that, so I'll give them a call on Monday and see if they can help. Nice one!

That's very kind Alan. Let me see where I end up with a couple of other options first before anyone goes to any trouble! Although I work for an Anglo Irish company, so you could always post them to Dublin and I'll grab them next time I'm over at head office!
