Hi,
I have a 2003 TD5 Defender Hard top which, for most of the time, is sounding like a tractor and occasionally completely stops!! - have to stop and restart the engine.
Whats been done so far - without the problem being sorted:
Most, if not all, of the sensors and senders, have been replaced, couple of new head wiring looms replaced, crank sensor replaced. Its had the DeCat front pipe fitted and the EGR totally removed. Turbo wastegate is nicely free. Cooling system has been drained, thermostat replaced and radiator backed flushed and refilled with the correct mix of antifreeze, and the water temp sensor replaced. No oil at the red ECU plug. Injectors have had both copper and rubber seals done and the injector rockers adjusted correctly (tightened right down to a stop and turned back one complete revolution), new fuel pump fitted, and fuel filter housing replaced (the old one had gone porous and was letting air into the system) I think this is about it - for now!!
Now, the problem still exists and what hair I did have has now gone!! If any one could help, it would be greatly appreciated. I am now at a total loss as to whats wrong.
HELP !
