Hi all. I know nothing about 300tdi engines can somebody tell me please what can be the cause of that background(whirring) noise ? eventually what's the cure. It's a '98 D1

You got a viscous fan fitted?
Does not sound engine related as disappears through the ranges

It certainly comes from the pump

You got no leaks on the boost valve?

No, everything is OK except that noise, it might be a wear in the pump cos it got quieter when i added some 2SO in the tank
