Thinking of getting a set of Noid lights.
1995 4.6 GEMS and 2000 4.0 THOR
Does anyone know if one set will fit both engines?
Ta

I suspect the fuel filter as hasnt been changed for a looooong time as I had been told, on here, that I didnt have one lol (1995 4.6)
Fuel pressure seems ok but never checked with gauge.

I'm ordering both fuel and oil filter for mine in the morning, I've no clue when the fuel filter was last done!
It could be letting enough fuel through at light load, but struggling to keep up demand as the requirement goes up
Mines 4.0 thor

Mibne hasnt been done for so long that it is going to be hard to undo without snapping a union. Been soaking it in penetrating oil for a few days

Post crossed with your last, but...

Oakey, if your filter hasn't been changed in a while then start with the plus gas early on the flare nuts. I tried pretty much everything on mine - my flare spanners were too thick to be able to access the union , and then eventually I had to use an induction coil (depressurised rail, and fire extinguisher close at hand) and a dremel down the side of the nut on the filter housing (both sides), before the joint surrendered. Just don't go nuclear too early - once you've stripped the nut then you're toast. And it's an Imperial fit too, btw - or at least that will give you a much better fit. That said, I doubt that would be the issue - perhaps an injector has gone bad? I sent mine off and had them all cleaned for 80 quid IIRC

Re Noid lights, I suspect you can derive just as much information by disconnecting the injectors one by one and detecting a change in engine speed/ tone (or not), although I don't have any so may be talking b***s

Plugs are all the right colour
I am worried that I strip the nuts or break the pie.
The injector clean sounds good since mine have done 198k

"I am worried that I strip the nuts or break the pipe"

The good thing is that the filter housing is the female connection, so you can be exquisitely careful with a dremel cutting disc and go for the threads since the filter's going straight in the bin. if you keep the speed low the cutting disc won't spark, but I did acquire a fire extinguisher especially for that particular job.

No chuffing or ticking noises like an exhaust gasket gone?

Any rattling from the cats? Could be the catalyst matrix is rattling about and under high load is pushed back restricting flow. Could try removing the cats and go for a quick drive and see if that fixes it.

No chuffing noises at all.
The cats seem ok, Janspeed system fitted and cats were ok when that was fitted about three months ago. This problem has been there for a while
